More About Movado

Movado is another classic-era Swiss watch company, beginning its life in La Chaux-de-faunds, Switzerland in 1881 under Achille Ditesheim. Movado is the Esperanto word for "always in motion," a phrase with a double meaning. Always in motion suggests the company's timekeeping reliability and its progressive vision. In its first 100 years Movado earned nearly 100 patents, a testament to its technological excellence and consistent progressive thinking. In 1947, the first museum watch was created by American designer Nathan George Horwitt. In 2001, Movado mined its own history to create another breakthrough design, the Elliptica. Improving on its tradition, Movado is still moving.
