Acquired in 1999, and slowly nurtured to become one of the Swatch Group’s leading luxury brands, Leon Hatot’s history begins in Paris, in 1911, when the 22 year old watchmaker, jeweler, entrepreneur, inventor, editor and artist arrives from Bensacon. He soon finds work with the leading jewelers of Paris, such as Boucheron, Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels. Before long, he has acquired Bredillard, a leading manufacturer and supplier of watches, clocks, jewelry and other stylish accessories to the leading firms of Place Vendome.

In 1925, at Paris’ “Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs et Industriels Modernes”, he is invested with France’s highest honor, the “Legion de’Honneur”. During his lifetime, Leon Hatot creates thousands of sketches, designs and products that remain the inspiration for the new company bearing his name.
