About A Lange Sohne
In 1845, Adolph Lange gave up his privileged position as the watchmaker of the royal Saxon court and ventured into the impoverished mining town of Glashutte in the Ore Mountains to establish the German precision watchmaking industry. In the course of time, he created unique masterpieces of estimable value, many of which today can be admired in prestigious public and private collections. For 100 years, the watches of A. Lange & Sohne were among the most sought after in the world until the division of Germany eradicated the companys name on timepiece dials. However, in 1994 immediately after the reunification of Germany, Adolphs grandson, Walter Lange returned to Glashutte to once again demonstrate the prowess of Lange watchmaking artistry with the same love of innovation that originally mage Lange famous around the globe. And as in the old days, Langes unique watches are still painstakingly crafted and assembled by hand.
